The Garden Club of Mount Desert, a non-profit 501(c)(3), was founded in 1926 and is a member of the Garden Club of America and the Garden Club Federation of Maine. The Club's mission is to advance gardening among amateurs, to stimulate and increase knowledge of horticulture, to aid in the protection of native flora and fauna, and to encourage civic planting.
